Every year a team of dedicated, brave and passionate people get on their bicycles and ride the Momentum 947 Cycle Challenge. They ride to see future generations raised up and invested in. They ride to add value to their city. They ride to see CHANGE in our community by raising money for Botshabelo. They are TRUE HEROES. They are the Purple Peloton!!
Now the #PurplePeloton is BACK and ready to take on the Momentum 947 Cycle Challenge again in 2015 and… YOU can BE one of these heroes!
So who is Botshabelo? In a nutshell, Botshabelo is one of the ways in which Urban Life extends generous justice to our community. This is achieved through the Babies Home as well as two Early Childhood Education programs. As a church we stand together to support Botshabelo and their work because we can see justice restored to our community.
Visit Botshabelo’s website to find out more!
Here’s How you can be a #PurplePeloton hero too:
1. RIDE the Momentum 947 Cycle Challenge for a purpose, ride for Botshabelo!
Riding for a purpose will get you:
- A better start time in the race.
- It will mean that the aches and pains are 100% worth it, because you can know you’ve made a true difference.
We will add you to our charity bond which will secure you that EARLY START time.
If you need more details, feel free to get in touch with our Team Leader Michelle.(email@example.com)
You will ride in our fantastic Purple Peloton cycling kit, and can join in our monthly training rides and spinathon if you’d like.
Let’s see which site can raise the most money and recruit the most riders shall we?!
Each rider pledges to raise R3 000 for Botshabelo. Don’t be scared off by this though, it comes in easier than you think!
2. SUPPORT the Purple Peloton
You can support our Purple Peloton by SPONSORING a rider, or the team. Each rider has to raise R3 000 for Botshabelo and you can help them reach this target by sponsoring them. Really any amount you choose. Perhaps, you can get your company involved and have them sponsor our team… All donations (individual and corporate) will receive tax receipts and BEE Certificates. There may also be media coverage opportunities for the corporate sponsors.
If you’d like to sponsor a rider, email our Team Leader, Michelle (firstname.lastname@example.org) and let her know you’d like to sponsor and she will help you out with the details. Alternatively, you can simply make a donation toward the team, using the bank details below and we’ll receive the sponsorship. (If you’d like tax receipts, contact us on email@example.com) Or you can check out our Back a Buddy page, and pick a rider to support.
You can also support our team on RACE DAY…at our SUPPORTER ZONE and on SOCIAL MEDIA (using the hashtag #PurplePeloton). We will send out more details regarding this, so watch this space!
So whether you’re going to RIDE or SUPPORT or BOTH, we hope you’ll join our #PurplePeloton and enjoy our great city through cycling! Most importantly, we’ll be raising awareness and funds for Botshabelo to continue our work as we invest in the future generation of South Africa.
