21-DAY READING PLAN:
When it comes to finding peace and joy in times of worry, there are no quick fixes or ways to avoid it all together. As Christ followers we are not promised a trouble-free life on this side of eternity, but Jesus does promise us Himself. We are invited to walk a journey everyday with God – to know Him and His ways, which lead to real, abundant life.
One of the ways we can attack anxiety is with God’s Word (the Bible) because all Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2 Tim 3:16).
God’s Word reshapes our thoughts – and how we think, shapes how we live. Wise thinking leads to wise living. His Spirit also empowers us to take our next step.
SAY YES TO TAKING YOUR NEXT STEP:
Set aside some time and find a quiet space. Start with 15 minutes a day, every day and you will begin to see a big impact. (Small act = Big Impact). Here is how you can use this reading plan:
- “Gratitude changes our attitude”. Read the daily Psalm and use it to help you thank and praise God for who He is and what He has done.
- Read the Scripture and Meditate on it. To meditate, as the Bible talks about it, is to focus one’s thoughts, to ponder, think and muse, to consider and reflect upon. It is the same word for a cow chewing the cud (rumination). The cow chews the grass, swallows it, and then brings it back up to chew on it some more. Cows will do this several times so they can really get the nutrition from it. God wants us to continually feed on his Word, to dwell on it and remind ourselves throughout our day. We can use the truth of God to help us stand firm when the enemy brings opposition in the battlefield of our minds. As Christ followers, when we meditate on the scripture we fill our mind with God’s truth.
- Ask yourself:
- What does this reveal about God & His work in my life?
- What is my next step?
