Making an impact on the Youth
As we prayed I saw a picture of a teenage boy. Typical picture with long hair, a hoody and a skate board. I sensed that the new church plant was going to make in roads into areas, ( More specifically groups of people rather than geographical) that haven't been reached before in the area that they are planning to plant. A sense that there may be other churches around, but that they will be placed there for a completely different group of people. In particular youth/teenagers. Through which they may then at a later stage also reach other groups e.g. the parents. I felt that they had to pray specifically for wisdom as to 'how' as it will most probably be required of them to do things in an unconventional way... I had a sense that God wanted to use them to create a safe space for youth to 'be'. That this group longed for identity, purpose and belonging as much . if not more than other groups. They need strategy , and wisdom as to how to create this space, how to create room for the Holy spirit to move. (Paul Rouillard - Melville)

For the youth that the church is trying to reach.
Safety is what presses on my heart. A sense of safety is imperative for the build and growth of any lasting relationship. There needs to be a strong undercurrent of unmovable safety for those children. It is importnat that a strong sense of safety is translated to them. That it is a safe place to be.

A safe friendship, no stings attached. (Luke 16 Now here's a surprise: The master praised the crooked manager! And why? Because he knew how to look after himself. Streetwise people are smarter in this regard than law-abiding citizens. They are on constant alert, looking for angles, surviving by their wits.)

A safe uncomplicated free space.
Nothing to meet but love
Nothing to gain but love
Nothing to give but love
Nothing required but UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
Safety absolute safety.
Nothing to be but themselves.

I believe that many of the children that you will be in contact with will be so scared, saturated with a sense of uncertainty and danger. Danger of all kinds, presenting it self in all forms and from all directions.

But most of all a GREAT FEAR OF ABANDONMENT AND UNIMPORTANCE TO THOSE THEY REQUIRE AND SHOULD RECEIVE LOVE, NURTURING AND ACCEPTANCE FROM.

Many of them not having crossed over from sheer obedience to submission to authority, and not understanding the difference. May our Lord bless you in this task that He has given you. May you be granted early fruit of your labour among them as encouragement from the Lord, just as conformation and a taste of the harvest that is to come. (Elmarie Little- Melville)

Throw your nets on the others side
I was reminded of the time when the disciples were fishing all night and they had not caught anything. Jesus told them to throw their nets on the other side of the boat and when they obeyed Him they caught so many fish that their nets started to break (Luke 5:1-11). God wants us to throw our nets over in Centurion and see the catch of people He will give us. There is a great harvest in Centurion. (Winnie Dube)

Litmus reading
God gave me a picture of a litmus paper that had changes it's colour to blue, it was a "Go ahead", a "Positive" sign. We don't have to second guess this Centurion Strategy. God says it's Thumbs up, Go ahead! (Michael Honeywell)

Big trees for his Glory
I saw a valley with trees. I realised that these trees could survive a drought, but the grass wont…Felt that God say we have many trees here at CLC that can survive a drought, that can survive a forest fire , they are big and strong, but these trees need to spread their branches, spread out so that they can become useful. He wants to dress these trees like a Christmas tree, with lights (imagine the glorious sight of a tree that is decorated and lights up). God wants to display His glory through us. There are many people in this family that are trees. It's almost like we have become couch potatoes, sitting trees. Allow God to reveal the way He wants to use you in this Community. Allow God to hang things on us, display His glory through us as we reach beyond. (Eldred Ekermans)

New Shoots
I saw a garden with one strawberry plant in it, it was large and well established and had lots of big red strawberries on it. I saw that it sent out shoots, where the shoot found good soil it put down roots and new plants were formed. When the new plants established themselves the connecting shoots died and they become separate plants. These plants sent out shoots that became separate plants. The garden became covered in strawberry plants each with its own strawberries. (Barbara Key).

First Centurion Prayer Meeting - 3 June 2007

Restoration
He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul...- Psalm 23:2,3.

God will do this in Centurion. This will be a garden where people will be restored, where there is life..

I see the time of prayer as seeds we are sowing that will grow into a beautiful garden. People will come here to smell the fragrance of the seeds that grow into flowers, take off their shoes of business and feel the grass under their feet. People will rest next to quiet waters and be restored, for His name’s sake.

Children from broken homes will come to the ‚ÄòSunday School‚Äô and learn what it means to have a Father. Hurt children will come to learn the comfort of the Holy Spirit. It will not be the songs, teachers or programmes that will draw them but the work that Jesus can do in their lives . (Jenny Lee Wiliams)

Life

Recently, whilst thinking of the church plant to CenturionI was taken to the scripture in Ezekiel 37. When I read it I noticed that we are taken by the Holy Spirit, to the “Valley” of Centurion. I also believe that we as CLC, need to see the life in the people. This past week I was reading an article in a magazine about a museum in Stellenbosch, This museum was full of human body parts and what struck me was that although everything was there, not just bones, there was no life and that we need to see and prophesy the life of God into Centurion.
We are coming from a small place into a large place.
We must not be afraid of the giants in this land. (Johann van Heerdan)

Can anything good come out of Midrand?
In John 1:46, Phillip tells Nathanael that they have found the Saviour - Jesus in Nazareth and Nathanael asks, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?". People may ask, "Can anything good come out of Midrand". Good will come of Midrand.

He sees them sitting under a fig tree and will stir them into seeking - just like Nathanael (John 1:45). (Michael Honeywell)

Open Doors
God will open doors that have been shut up for long, some have never been opened. Doors to peoples homes, their hearts, to businesses... . Our meetings in Centurion will be an open door into other communities.

Disturbing the Sand
Had a picture of snorkelling around the rocks. The is life under the sand, the sand has been disturbed. God has been at work here already. (Andrew Mills).

Parable of the Sower
The soil is rocky and the cares of this world can choke seeds, the birds of the air can steal them - but God will protect the seeds here. That 100 fold of what has been sown will take root and produce a harvest. (Ann Barnard)

Prayed for:
- For people to have a supernatural encounter that will draw them to this place, for God to set up divine appointments.
- For pre-concieved ideas about the English and the Afrikaans 'cultures'/ people will be broken.
- For people to come hungry to the Steers but instead find their hunger satisfied by God.

Showcase Gods story
As a theatre this church will be a stage to showcase Gods story, a spotlight on God church. A church that will showcase the creativity of his people and that it will have a culture of being a story telling church.

Telling the story of god in peoples live as he dramatically changes their perspectives and place's the spotlight in their lives back onto his glory.

I also felt that it will be a place of abundance where there once had been barrenness, abundance of life, abundance of restoration abundance of arts, abundance of family abundance of worship and praise, abundance in youth and that we should be praying into these .(Peter Bremner).

3 June 2007
As I was going to sleep last night, I was pondering the enormity of the CLC centurion adventure and the responsibility that rests on you guys shoulders - so I began to pray and ask God what encouragement He had for you that would help you in not becoming overwhelmed. He reminded me of Nehemiah and his petition to King Artexexes and what transpired from that meeting. I know that this passage of scripture has been relevant to CLC at other times, so it may seem a bit overused!! But I still believe this is what God is saying - Nehemiah asked the king to allow him to go and rebuild Jerusalem and then I think ha kind of went on. Oh and while your at it could I have letters for safe passage and i also could do with some timber, do you think I could have a letter for the guy who looks after you forests telling him to give me your trees!!!! This is what I believe God is saying - that he will provide all that we need from whoever He chooses to use - that the unbelievers who control the resources that are required, will hand them over willingly. In Isaiah 44-45 God goes on at great length declaring that it is He, the Lord who makes things happen, that He will use whoever He wants to achieve his purposes, to build His church - If god has given the go ahead then He will accomplish it. Threshing Floor
While we were praising the lord this evening, the Holy Spirit laid on my heart that Centurion is going to be another of God's tools. And I thought, I wonder what kind of tool and a word "threshing floor" was placed in my spirit . It is mostly used in the old testament and for the winnowing of wheat on this floor, but you need the wind for that (which is a metaphor for the Holy Spirit).  Joel 2:24 says "The threshing floors will be filled with grain and the vats will overflow with new wine and oil. Could you please think about this prayerfully, I think God is saying that Centurion is going to be the threshing floor which will be filled with grain. That Centurion will be in overflow (Joel 2:24) (Marilyn Saunders).

Battles with Victories
"This is a battlefield but I am going to give you territory!"
There are going to be battles, wars to fight, but we will have victory. Not battles of flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces, authorites & powers. Those who have never fought battles before will have something to fight for, something to be passionate for. Those who have fought battles long ago and have put away their weapons, allowed them to get dusty and rusty will have something to fight for again, a renewed excitement/ passion. They wont be old and out of shape but have years of wisdom and experience that will be in our favour. (Catherine Jones)

He will do it
Then the nations that are left all around you shall know that I am the Lord; I have rebuilt the ruined places and replanted that which was desolate. I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it. Ezekiel 36: 36 This is not any man's work. God said it and He will do it. (Lidia Nel)

In Flames
I had a very clear picture of flames coming out of a double door exit and people were leaving covered in these flames. The flames were shimmering, bright gold/yellow and very very hot.

I saw a man in worship, standing up, looking so happy but inside him I could see he was "bowed down" with pain. "People will come in. They will be ‘bowed down’ with issues. Putting on masks to survive. They'll be in need. Discern My thoughts, the truth about them. Read them deeply. Build friendships. The growth I plan will happen through friendship and fellowship. Deep friendships will lead them to hear what I'm saying to them. Don't be afraid to speak My truth in Love. Always in Love. It is for sinners that I died" (Sandy Foce).

Restoring Families
God say that He is going to bring in men that have abused their families, been alcoholics, men just with really hard hearts. God is going to restore there lives and there families lives, He will teach them to be men who love, love there families and love God!

I saw many people from CLC, running towards Centurion with those torches with fire that they use in the Olympics. They were carrying the fire God had lit in us here in Midrand and were carrying it over to proclaim the start there. (Adrian van Zyl)

Wild flowers
I had a picture of the flowers that come up on the West Coast of South Africa. They come up every year and nobody has to plant them or make sure they grow, they just do. Also the landscape before the flowers come up is really barren and rather ordinary. When the flowers bloom they are so beautiful and even though there are many different types, together they look wonderful. He said that we don’t have to “do” anything – it is not about how much work we can do or the effort we put in – it is all about Him and we must put our trust and faith in Him to do His work in Centurion. Also the people will all be different – different backgrounds, cultures, races – but when they are all together and God has done his work, the previous barren landscape of Centurion will be a beautiful sight that people will be drawn to.
