From the Ultimate Manual
A manual or map book would certainly be useful for this adventure called adolesence!  Funnily enough, when we look at Jesus’ life the Bible only makes mention of him as a boy and then as a 30 year old man. We do not hear anything about Jesus the pimply teenager. Boy, wouldn’t it have been handy if his mother, Mary, had written a chapter with tips from her experience in raising Jesus! I joke about it, but God has given us everything we need for life and godliness (2 Pet 1:3). We may not know the exact details of His adolescent years but what we do know for certain is that Jesus is not out of touch with our reality. He's been through weakness and testing, experiencing all that we have - all but the sin. (Heb 4:15).
Here are a few scriptures on children and parents:
Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. - Exo 20:12
Keep his decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the Lord your God gives you for all time. - Deut 4:40
