Loudspeakers

Are the words you speak a fountain of life or a loudspeaker for slander?

How can I apply the wisdom of speaking righteous, life giving words in these areas today: to myself; my family; and my workplace?

Shout it out what God has done for you.

Lift up your voice in gratitude and wonder at His amazing salvation.

Be loudspeakers of GRACE and KINDNESS and LOVE. The world around us needs to hear those words loud and clear.

~Marc Dewrance

As I (Andy) read Marc’s thoughts on Proverbs 10, I was reminded of the true story of Hagar in the Bible – Genesis 16. God told her to name her son Ishmael, which means “God hears”.

My imagination (and experience) took hold.

We have a young boy who lives next door to us – his name is Tsiamo. How do I know that? Because EVERYBODY shouts his name around the neighbourhood. He is obviously popular and his name is called out often!

Now, Ishmael (God hears), was a bit of a wild thing (God had prophesied that he would be). Can you imagine how many times people called his name out? How many times did Hagar, his mom, shout his name – ISHMAEL!

BUT….. in doing so she also proclaimed “GOD HEARS” to the neighbourhood. She was speaking life over her community, she was reminding them that God hears them, that God hears their silent prayers, their yearnings, that He is a living God who can hear.

What are we proclaiming over our neighbourhoods, our communities? Are we loudspeakers of truth and grace? Of kindness and mercy? Of truth and wisdom? Are we being prophetic voices that speak His words over our nation?

Amen to being loudspeakers of truth and grace!🗣️ May the LORD watch over our mouths and set gaurd on the door of our lips. May the words of our mouths and the meditation of our hearts be pleasing in His sight. 🙏🏾

Oh Lord, be gracious to me by teaching my heart to overflow with kindness, mercy and love. I know, as my heart overflows my mouth will speak.

I love verse 5 of this chapter, the importance of knowing the season that you are in! Sometimes its a struggle, sometimes a stretch, sometimes success, but always a season of VICTORY through Christ!

    So encouraged by this.
What a privilege it is to be God’s loudspeakers.

We get to carry the good news of salvation!!
