Wiped out!

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord – Acts 3:19a

One of my pet hates is people who write with permanent markers on boards that are for general use and needs a temporary marker that can easily be wiped out!

When someone uses that evil permanent marker, it is a frustrating and almost impossible job to get rid of it. No matter which cleaning technology you try it seems to make it worse and even more terrible, the mess is spread into a colourful messy ‘splodge’. When you do manage to get rid of THAT, there always seems to be this leftover residue of the original writing that will be with you FOREVER!!

Oh, the joys of the temporary marker…. write, wipe and ‘voila’ a fresh new board!

So often we feel that the marks of our sin, our guilt, our failures and our mistakes will stain us forever. Even if the surface results are removed the reminders of what we said or did will be with us forever for everyone to see – a tattoo of our immaturity, failure and weakness.

BUT … we have ‘Gospel technology’ … the blood of Jesus that wipes away the permanent marks and stains and we become clean … new …justified – just as if we have never sinned! No residue left behind, no stains, no marks  but a fresh new life, a new creation, a clean slate.

Wouldn’t you like that? Don’t you NEED that?

A removal of  the guilt and shame. A WIPE OUT of the stain of sin. The cancellation of our sin!

Just turn to Jesus. Let Him come with His supernatural grace and mercy to clean you, wipe away the marks.

Hebrews 4:16 “So now we come feely and boldly to where love is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness.” (TPT)

Let times of refreshing come cascading from the throne room of heaven to remove the weariness of the accusations of the devil and cancel our sin forever.
